Enjoy Your Life!

July 29th, 2011

At the worst, a house unkept cannot be so distressing as a life unlived.

– Dame Rose Macaulay 1881-1958

Tie up Your Loose Ends but not so tight that you are afraid to make a move. Mistakes are part of a lived life. That’s why they made erasers? Does that give you liberty to go on and hurt others on purpose? I don’t think so. Never did. The point I am trying to make is this: enjoy where you are right now. It may not be perfect and my guess that it isn’t but when you let go and stop fighting and trying to force people, places or things to change then something wonderful can happen. For example, you may begin to notice yourself actually becoming “present” for the first time in a very long time instead of trying to multi-task and get 10,000 things or more done in a day. Begin with taking a full breath, noticing the sun on your skin next time you you go outside. Take a day and go out in the woods just to notice a chipmunk running past you on the trail. If you live near the ocean make a deliberate trip just to see its’ majestic presence. If you live near the mountains, you can photograph them, paint them or just be aware of their greatness and plant them in your memory bank to enjoy another time. Nature is in perfect order and you will notice it when you allow yourself to let go. Many things are out of your hands. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy today! Ciao!
